The Illinois State MBA Program offers a graduate assistantship (GA) to a select group of high-achieving students.
Graduate assistantships are university appointments that give students an opportunity to work with faculty members and provide a method of funding graduate studies. There are five scholarships that apply directly to the MBA program at Illinois State University:
The MBA Program is pleased to announce the Robert Crowell MBA Endowed Scholarship Fund, which was recently created with a generous endowment from one of our alumni, Mr. Robert Crowell (MBA ’95). The winner of this scholarship will receive a plaque and a $750 award which can be used to cover the student’s tuition and fees. We encourage qualified students to view the qualifications and apply for this scholarship.

The University allocates funds to supplement tuition for graduate students.
Each semester a limited number of Academic Talent Tuition Waivers are awarded to domestic M.B.A. students. These awards cover all or part of the tuition, but students are responsible for fees.
Awards are based on an applicant's academic credentials at admission and academic record in the M.B.A. program. Effective fall 2011 semester, the minimum credentials are as follows.
Applications are available at the M.B.A. office and are due approximately two weeks before the start of each semester.

International students who have done well during their first semester in the M.B.A. program at Illinois State may apply to the Office of International Studies for a tuition waiver. These awards are based on financial need and academic success.

The Lela Winegarner Fellowship is awarded to promising international students who have completed part of their graduate program and are pursuing careers of service to their country. Students must be admitted to the graduate program to be eligible. Applications and supporting material must be received by September 15. Awards, which usually range from $200 to $400, are announced by October 15. Applications are available at the MBA office and the Graduate School.

The Illinois General Assembly established the Diversifying Faculty in Illinois program formerly the Illinois Consortium for Educational Opportunity Program (ICEOP)] in 1985 to increase the number of underrepresented faculty and staff in Illinois institutions of higher education and higher education governing boards.
Applicants, who must be members of underrepresented groups, and who must be graduates of educational institutions in Illinois or be registered voters with at least three years of residency in the state, enter a statewide competition for awards for stipends of $12,500 to $16,000 per academic year.
Upon graduation an award recipient must accept a position in teaching or administration at an Illinois postsecondary educational institution, higher education governing board, or education-related state agency, or they must repay 20 percent of their award. Applications are available from the Graduate School and are due February 1.

The Illinois State University Foundation Fellowship for full-time graduate students is awarded to students who have demonstrated potential for academic excellence. The award amount is $3000. Recipients must have attained a cumulative grade point average of 3.6 on a 4.0 scale in undergraduate and previous graduate work. Applicants must be admitted to but not have started work in their graduate degree program. Applications are available in the MBA office and the Graduate School.

Fellowship applications are reviewed once a year. The deadline for applications and supporting materials is March 15.
Completed applications should be returned to the Director of Graduate Studies, Graduate School, Illinois State University.

The Graduate Management Admission Council sponsors a loan program for graduate students in AACSB-accredited institutions. Call toll free (888) 440-4622 to have an application packet sent to you. The line is open 24 hours a day.

The University's financial aid office is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday in Fell Hall, Room 231. Student and professional staff advisors are available to meet with students on a first-come–first-served basis.
